Capa Collection is a wonderful way to experience new wines. The Tempranillo comes from vineyards planted on the high plains of Castilla la Mancha, known as the Spanish Mesta. The climate is continental meaning that the vineyards are exposed to freezing cold winters sometime resulting in a thin blanket (una capa) of snow. During the summers the vineyards are exposed to very warm and dry conditions with very little precipitation ensuring concentrated ripe fruit.

Winemaking

The grapes were harvested at the optimum stage of ripeness during the second half of September throughout early October. The wine was vinified with a cold maceration at 5ºC during 48 hours, 15% saignée to concentrate the musts. Temperature controlled fermentation at 24-28ºC in stainless steel tanks. Maceration time 12-18 days. The wines was then aged 4 months in French oak barrels.

Tasting notes

Clear dark purple color. Clean intense and pronounced aromas reminiscent of bramble fruits, blueberries and black cherries with toasted oak, sweet spices and hints of roasted coffee bean. One the palate it is dry, full bodied with firm but ripe tannins and a long finish.
