Pueblo Desconocido is the result of the collaboration between Gerd Stepp and Hammeken Cellars, bringing together two complementary ways of understanding wine.

With over 30 years of international experience across Germany, New Zealand, South Africa and Italy, Gerd Stepp has built his philosophy around a single idea: capturing the pure essence of terroir with minimal intervention and maximum expression.

This Tempranillo–Syrah is crafted in Cuenca, a province within Castilla–La Mancha that stands apart from the region’s flatter, warmer areas. Vineyards here are planted at higher altitudes, between 700 and 1,000 meters, benefiting from cooler nights and warm days, a key factor in preserving natural acidity and aromatic freshness in the wines.

Pueblo Desconocido reflects this unique meeting point: Gerd Stepp’s terroir-driven, international vision and Hammeken Cellars’ expertise in creating modern Spanish wines with global appeal.
