This is the first year of a brand new fair, Barcelona Wine Week (it’s a spin off of Alimentaria, so the wine industry can have their own unique space).
HC had the opportunity to attend the 2020 Winestate portfolio tasting, our partner in Finland, in its 5th edition. It was organised in an incredibly cool location in the heart of Helsinki called Tavastia – a very popular cult rock venue operating since 1970. We attracted a massive affluence of visitors with the most relevant players of the market and decision makers of the Finnish wine trade.
This past week, Oscar, Nicholas and Sergio represented Hammeken Cellars in the organic wine fair Millesime Bio (Montpellier, France, 27-29th January), where we had the opportunity to introduce our Manos Libre organic brand new range; we’re adding a new tempranillo, a rosé and a white, hand in hand with the original. Combined they make an excellent collection.
In the past, the remains of the wine that was not utilized for bottling, or the wine of worse quality, was sold at a cheaper price in different types of packaging such cartons. That is probably why there’s still some stigma around different types of packaging than bottling.
Marcelo Morales (born in Chile, some years ago…) joined Hammeken Cellars in May 2019. We’ve been working side by side for almost 9 months, yet we didn’t have the chance to have a “proper” conversation. Finally, we managed to sit and talk. This is the result.

Last 29th November, Hammeken Cellars’ team joined forces with Marina de Denia, in the first plogging event ever celebrated in Marina Alta county.
Last 21st to 24th of November, the Gourmet Food and Wine Expo took place in Toronto, like every year. And as every year, we were there! This time, besides Radio Boka, we took the chance to introduce her older brother, El Gringo.
